The Governing Council and Programme Management Team of STAR Ghana Foundation congratulates Rebecca Teiko Sabah and Nicholas Ayensu-Appiah: Head of Programmes, and Grants & Due Diligence Manager of STAR Ghana respectively, on their induction as Members of the Institute of Directors Ghana (IOD-GH). This was at a colourful ceremony held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.
The Institute of Directors Ghana is a professional organization committed to the professional practice of Corporate Directorship. It has the purpose of championing director professionalism and development through good corporate governance for the benefit of organizations, stakeholders and the prosperity of Ghana.
Rebecca Teiko Sabah, Esq., is a lawyer, and certified project management professional with over 20 years’ experience in the development sector. Teiko leads on the implementation of the programmatic elements of the STAR Ghana programme. She has successfully championed the implementation of the Convening, Catalysing and Coordinating (3C) role of the Programme. She manages and provides technical support to programme partners and the STAR Ghana Team, and ensures the effective management and delivery of the programme.
Teiko has previously worked as the first Ghanaian Country Manager of Christian Aid in Ghana and as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Institute for Democratic Governance (IDEG). She serves on three boards: the Presbyterian Relief Services and Development (PRS&D), Participatory Development Associates (PDA) and PASE – an agro-based social enterprise organisation working in oil palm.
She is a member of the Ghana Bar Association. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Development Studies and a Master of Arts in Organisational Development from the University of Ghana and the University of Cape Coast respectively. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Nicholas Ayensu-Appiah has over 15 years of experience in Project Management and Development work. He works with Senior Management team of the STAR Ghana Programme to plan grant funding windows and has successfully coordinated the operational elements of the £25m multi donor funded grants administered by the Programme. He has led in the development of rigorous grant systems that assure value for money and reduction in fiduciary risk.
He has previously worked with major international profit and non-profit making organisations such as AngloGold Ashanti-Obuasi, World Vision International, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Nicholas Ayensu-Appiah has been admitted to the degree of Master in Business Administration (MBA) in Project Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Cape Coast.
