Ibrahim-Tanko Amidu, Programme Director and Acting CEO of STAR Ghana Foundation has been conferred as an honorary fellow of the Institute of Directors Ghana (IoD-GH). Ibrahim-Tanko Amidu, together with four other distinguished personalities, was inducted into the institute as an honorary member at an event held at the Kempinski hotel in Accra to induct new members.
The honour was in recognition of his `outstanding leadership in the promotion and practice of good governance in various spheres of professional endeavour. `
The Institute of Directors Ghana is a professional organization committed to the professional practice of Corporate Directorship. It has the purpose of championing director professionalism and development through good corporate governance for the benefit of organizations, stakeholders and the prosperity of Ghana.

Ibrahim-Tanko Amidu is STAR Ghana Foundation’s principal technical advisor, ensuring that the programme is utilizing, developing and applying best practices and providing inspired thought leadership within the organization. He is a seasoned development professional and has worked extensively with the Government of Ghana, local and international Civil Society Organizations and Bilateral Aid Agencies in Ghana.
Ibrahim-Tanko Amidu has led in the development and implementation of social development, voice and accountability programmes and projects at all levels of governance, ranging from small integrated rural development projects to the multi-donor pooled national governance fund, STAR Ghana Foundation. He was the Team Leader of the first phase of the STAR-Ghana programme (multi-donor pooled fund), a precursor programme of the STAR Ghana Foundation.
Ibrahim-Tanko Amidu has previously worked as the Country Director of VSO Ghana and the Northern Ghana Programmes Director of Care International, Ghana. He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Social Policy and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Ghana.
