Anita Asare Awuku
Projects Officer
Anita Asare Awuku is a development practitioner with over eight years of experience in policy research and advocacy, project coordination, partnership management, and outcome harvesting. She has worked extensively across the health, education, social protection, and gender equality sectors, supporting initiatives funded by development partners including USAID, the World Bank, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, Comic Relief, and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
As a Senior Projects Officer of the Foundation, her role involves collaborating with partners for project implementation, monitoring and reporting, supporting grant partner compliance, and contributing to proposal development and policy-oriented learning products at the local level. She also supports safeguarding assessments and capacity-strengthening efforts for partner organizations.
Prior to joining STAR‑Ghana Foundation, Anita worked with SEND Ghana as a Field/Project Officer, where she supported budget analysis and advocacy efforts, generated district‑level evidence, and facilitated citizen engagement initiatives at the local level. Her contributions helped improve service delivery in the health, education, water, and sanitation sectors, while also strengthening citizen influence in local development planning processes.
Anita holds a Master of Arts degree in Research and Public Policy and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work with Sociology from the University of Ghana.
