Innocent Kodzo Awumey
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Innocent Kodzo Awumey, born on the 21st of March holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics and Statistics. His academic background as well as project implementation skills has made him develop a strong analytical skill, team playing abilities and other useful qualities - ability to work under stress with little or no supervision which comes in handy in this modern work environment.
At STAR-Ghana Innocent is tasked at providing support in the development of high quality programmatic interventions and assist in project monitoring. Innocent also analyses data of result achieved and support partners based on frameworks agreed with senior staff. He also provides training of team members and partners in M&E issues.

Afua Takyiwaa - Kumi
Afua Takyiwaa - Kumi, SMS Voices Coordinator/ Communications Officer has twelve years of work experience in community development. She is an energetic and experienced trainer who enjoys working with diverse groups of people. She brings on board enviable facilitation and operational skills.
Afua is skilled in leadership and advocacy, good communication and interpersonal relationship building. She holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Home Economics Education from the University of Education, Winneba.
Afua previously worked as the Medical and Dental Program Lead for Global Brigades Ghana, where she served rural communities within the Ekumfi Municipality by facilitating access to mobile health clinics and educational workshops on various health related topics. Prior to joining Global Brigades, she worked with the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) as an Assistant Project Officer under the United Nations Fund Population Activities (UNFPA) project on ‘Integrated Community-Based SRH for Young People in the Central Region of Ghana.
Afua is responsible for the coordination of the operational elements of the STAR-Ghana SMS Voices platform. Her role also includes coordination and the delivery of training sessions on SMS Voices as well as providing mentoring to participants of the STAR-Ghana SMS Voices platform. As the Communications officer she is responsible for collecting, collating and sharing of relevant and up to date information to partners and stakeholders of the programme.
SMS Voices Project Manager
Daniel Kwame Ampofo Adjei
Daniel Ampofo Adjei, SMS Voices Manager, brings on board, eight years of experience in formative research (qualitative and quantitative) that support the identification and prioritization of problems, and in the design of projects. He has experience in the design of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning frameworks.
Daniel has demonstrable interest in and aptitude for technology, as well as a firm and consistent up to date knowledge and experience of Social Media tools and ICT applications for development work. He is responsible for the conceptualization, design, implementation and management of the STAR-Ghana short message system (SMS) platform - a digital platform that enables trained citizen representatives in remote and marginalised communities to open instant dialogues with local government officials and other state actors via SMS.
Daniel has been admitted to the degree of Master of Philosophy (NGO Studies and Community Development) at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, where he also had his Bachelor of Science degree. He has professional training in Project Monitoring and Evaluation from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and an ICT Certificate in Microsoft Office and Software Application from the Institute of Computer Technology, Ghana.
Daniel is the principal author of the research paper: “Use of Social networking websites among NGOs in the Greater Accra region of Ghana” published by the Public Relations Review Journal. He is a principal author of eight policy papers that were borne out of research conducted to identify priority needs of private actors within the Ghanaian and Nigerian rice value chains. The evidence based policy papers serve as advocacy tools for engagement with the public sectors of Ghana and Nigeria.
Daniel has previously worked as Management information system (MIS) Manager at Hopeline Institute, a Ghanaian NGO funded by Partners Worldwide, USA. He has also worked as an independent consultant for Ghana Grains Council, Farm Radio International and the John A. Kufuor Foundation.
Programme Finance Officer
Michael Ato Yorke
Michael Ato Yorke is the Programme Finance Officer for the STAR Ghana Programme. He is responsible for delivering financial capacity building to STAR Ghana’s grantees and ensuring efficient and effective support to grantees in project financial management and reporting.
Michael has a first degree in Accounting and second degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Valley View University, Ghana and University of Applied Management, Germany respectively. He is also a student member of the Chartered Institute Management Accountants (CIMA) and an Affiliate member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). He has close to ten years of formal work ranging from accounting and finance, fundraising and marketing.
Michael brings to the STAR Ghana programme about eight years of Treasury Management, Financial Reporting and Management experience in the NGO sector. He has managed funding from various donor agencies including Australia Aid, European Union, US Aid, etc building excellent fund management systems that ensured accountability, integrity and transparency.
